Multotec Rubber Screen Panels Proving Successful
Multotec Rubber Screen Panels are
proving to be more than capable of handling the high
energy and impact associated with screening of
coarse fractions, with the added benefit of
overcoming pegging and blinding problems.
Spike Taylor, of Multotec Rubber, says the Multotec
Rubber Screen Panels are compression moulded at the
company’s Spartan plant. “The decision to use this
method of manufacture as opposed to injection
moulding these 3-D panels is based on sound
technical principles as potential pre-vulcanisation
problems could lead to failure in the field,” he
says.
Multotec Rubber Screen Panels were initially limited
to medium-sized apertures due to the compression
moulding process, however Multotec Rubber has
continually expanded its range of rubber screen
panels to accommodate market requirements. |
The standard modular panel range includes
aperture sizes from 3 mm to 118 mm with dimensions of 305 x
305 mm from 30 mm thick upwards. “We are now expanding into
the 305 x 610 mm range to meet customer demand for greater
open area,” says Taylor.
All the modular panels have internal frames to provide the
necessary mechanical support with a variety of custom-made
frames available for particularly arduous applications.
Multotec Rubber also makes large panels which can either be
bolted or clamped into position. These are used for screen
panels with large apertures that are not suited to the 305 x
305 mm dimensions or for extremely coarse ROM (run-of-mine)
applications.
“We attribute the success of our bolt-down panels to the
fact that all apertures have a self releasing downward
opening taper which prevents pegging,” Taylor comments. The
rubber compounds used for the modular and the bolt-down
screen panels are the same high energy absorption and
abrasion resistant rubber used in mill and scrubber linings.
Multotec Rubber also supplies modular and bolt-down panels
for trommel screens. These include all of the required
accessories such as solid panels, scrolls and weirbars to
transport the material on the trommel screen. These
complement the Multotec polyurethane range of panels
allowing Multotec Manufacturing to supply rubber panels for
trommels in heavy duty and coarse applications. Multotec
supplies steel trommel frames, engineered using FEA (finite
element analysis), to suit all application requirements. The
trommels are stress relieved and rubber lined where
necessary.
The Multotec Modular Rubber Panels incorporate the proven
H-Pin and H-Sleeve attachment systems. The H-Pin fastening
system provides improved attachment and the H-Sleeve ensures
secure clamping for panel attachment and improved frame
life.
A significant advantage of using the polyurethane attachment
system is that the rigidity of the material provides a firm
clamping force while the integral rubber attachments can
stretch allowing the panels to move on the vibrating screen
frame.
Multotec Rubber supplies a full range of rubber side liners,
centre clamping bars, and triangular side clamping bars to
provide a full screening media system. Multotec Rubber
Panels are compatible with any screen support frame and in
particular the exciting new saddle top development from
Multotec Manufacturing. |
