Multotec Magnetics Supplies Two Wet High Intensity Separators For Iron Ore Application In India
Multotec Magnetics has
successfully commissioned two WHIMS (wet high
intensity magnetic separator) machines in an iron
ore application in India.
“The machine has features which include replaceable
matrix plates, making it maintenance friendly and
easy to service,” Dr Arno Steinmuller, general
manager of Multotec Magnetics, says. “It is a more
efficient design than earlier generations,
particularly from an energy consumption perspective
and at 80 to 100 Tph, has a higher capacity.” The
low power consumption was a particularly important
element in the customer specified requirements. |

”Prior to the manufacture of the two WHIMS, Multotec
Magnetics undertook test work using samples from the plant
to confirm the suitability of the equipment for the
application. On completion, the machines were dispatched and
commissioned on site by a team of Multotec engineers and
technicians.

both mineral sands and iron ore applications locally and
internationally, coupled with our established reputation for
providing optimum technical solutions and the highest levels
of support, played a large role in the project being awarded
to us,” Steinmuller says.
“In addition to a significant improvement in serviceability,
both capex and operating costs are significantly lower and
add to the increased throughput achieved. This underlines

applications knowledge and technical expertise to produce
high quality, customer specific solutions, but to do so in a
manner that provides customers with a better bottom line,”
