The correct clearance between the underside of the conveyor belt and the Multotec low friction bars is essential. When the conveyor is empty and fully tensioned, there must be a clearance of between 15 to 30mm. This is to allow the low friction bars to cool down when the belts runs empty and between loading peaks Incorrect installation resulting in the conveyor belt running on the low friction bars continuously can cause heat build up which will result in the Multoslip melting and possible damage to the belt This clearance is achieved by ensuring the idlers closest to the feed and discharge ends have the rollers slightly higher than the top surface of the Multotec Loading Point. | Worn low friction bars are easily replaced. Lock out the conveyor according to your company procedures. Lift the conveyor belt slightly and unbolt the worn bar. Install a new low friction bar using the 4 T-bolt and Nylock nuts supplied with each bar |
