Clean-iX® for Metals Recovery enables highly-efficient and cost-effective extraction, concentration and separation processes, using the principles of continuous counter-current ion exchange. Developed by Multotec’s Australian partner Clean TeQ, Clean-iX® is built on the foundations of continuous ion exchange technology.
Used in the industry for over 50 years, it is recognised worldwide as extremely efficient in recovering, gold, uranium, rare earths and base metals, among others. The Clean-iX for metals recovery offers the following benefits:
Achieve your target of ammonia &/or nitrate wastewater concentrations with CLEANTEQ Water BIOCLENS® solutions from Multotec.
Bionex from CleanTEQ, distributed by Multotec, is ideal when high water recovery is required and when nitrate levels <1 ppm is required.
Multotec Clean-iX® for gold facilitates cost-effective gold recovery and can be used to recover multiple products from tailings.
Clean-iX® enables cost-effective recovery of uranium. Clean-iX® can be used with both alkaline and acidic leach reagents.
Clean-iX® for rare earth elements reduces the number of process steps and has proven recovery rates of 90% and higher.
Clean-iX® from Multotec provides a cost-effective method for recovering base metals and converting them into saleable products.
Many valuable metals can be more effectively recovered through continuous ion exchange when compared to conventional recovery routes. Clean-iX® offers the following advantages:
Clean-iX® is used to recover the following metals:
The modular full-scale and mobile Clean-iX® range for metals recovery consists of continuous resinin-
pulp (cRIP), continuous resin-in-leach (cRIL) and continuous liquid extraction (cLX) to recover ionic
species from feed solutions, as well as U-Column concentration desorption for the production of
high purity eluate.
Clean-IX® technology can be applied to clarified solutions and process slurries in mining applications.
For slurries and pulps, Continuous Resin-In-Pulp (cRIP) enables the elimination of large solid-liquid
separation circuits, reducing a plant’s capital and operating costs considerably.
Continuous Resin-In-Leach (cRIL), for leached slurries, combines leaching and extraction into a single
stage. This process can significantly improve overall metal recovery and minimise the size of
leaching/extraction circuits.
The Clean-iX® elution systems use a series of moving packed bed columns, each one performing a
different step. Using individual columns for each unit process allows each column to be specifically
designed for that function. There are two column types for elution, which are:
Pilot Work - Multotec has invested in a 1 m³/h two-stage test rig which is available for piloting the Clean-iX® technology.
