Michael Taylor, commonly known in the industry as Spike Taylor, has been involved in the mineral processing industry for over 40 years – 30 of which he has spent within the Multotec Group.

In 1974, Taylor was awarded a bursary from De Beers to study extractive metallurgy at the University of Witwatersrand. After completing this Business Science Engineering Degree, Taylor spent 3½ years at De Beers in Kimberly followed by another 3½ years at Debswana Jwaneng as an Assistant Plant Superintendent.

In 1985, Taylor joined the Multotec team as a Sales Engineer in Multotec Manufacturing. He was later promoted to Product Manager of Screening. In 2002, Taylor made the move to Multotec Rubber as a Sales Manager and later Sales Director.

In 2009, Taylor was appointed as Managing Director of Multotec Rubber – a position he continues to hold today.
