Association Membership
Multotec is an active member of a number of societies and associations that elevate and improve the mineral processing and metallurgical industries.
Through these memberships, Multotec is able to stay abreast of changes in the fields that it operates as well as adopt an industry-wide, collaborative approach to lowering costs for its clients and incorporating sound manufacturing techniques and business practices.
Multotec is part of the following associations and societies:
SACEEC
The South African Capital Equipment Export Council (SACEEC) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry provides total sector support from networking opportunities and information supply, to financing options, industry development and export assistance. Multotec, one of the council’s first members having joined in 1999, has been active in all aspects of the development of the SA manufacturing industry; participating in National Pavilions, Missions and Exhibitions, as well as hosting international delegations during Electra Mining Africa. It is on the strength of participation of members such as Multotec, that the SACEEC can credit its successes.
SAMPEC
Multotec is also a founding member of the newly formed South African Mineral Processing Equipment Cluster (SAMPEC). SAMPEC was formed under the umbrella of the SACEEC, as the ‘voice’ of the sector. Driven by industry, for the industry, SAMPEC aims to be fully representative of the value chain of the mineral processing industry and to play a critical role in the development of national policy and incentive levers, as well as assisting its members in identifying opportunities for import replacement and local beneficiation both up and down the value chain.
SAIMM
The Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) is a professional institute with local and international links aimed at assisting members’ source news and views about technological developments in the mining, metallurgical and related sectors as well as embracing a professional code of ethics. The SAIMM also attempts to fulfil what it sees as its obligations to the various communities and the environment. In addition, the institute is active in bringing together the mining and metallurgical fraternity in terms of research, shared experiences, education, personnel as well as students.
SACPS
The Southern African Coal Processing Society (SACPS) creates a forum for the exchange of ideas and to advance the use and processing of coal, promoting optimised coal preparation and utilisation techniques. The society attends coal processing and preparation conferences around the world, and is sponsored by Multotec among other mineral processing and mining giants like Anglo American and Exxaro.
MMMA
The Mine Metallurgical Managers' Association of South Africa (MMMA) promotes the professional interests of its members by encouraging efficient practical applications of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy on plants through sound financial and cost management principles. The association aims to remove “business barriers” to promote interaction to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and ideas between people from different operations within the metallurgical industry.
WISA
The Water Institute of South Africa (WISA) promotes professional excellence in the water sector. It does this through building expertise, sharing knowledge and improving quality of life. WISA`s mission is to be a professional, comprehensive, independent, volunteer, water sector community institution that provides diverse membership benefits. In addition it seeks to support the African water sector in both a representative and effective manner. WISA members are active participants in its Mine Water Division, as well as the International Water Association (IWA) Young Water Professionals (YWP) that form part of WISA.
AusIMM
The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) is a preeminent professional organization representing professionals in the global minerals sector. Founded in 1893, it operates under a Royal Charter and is based in Carlton, Victoria, Australia. The AusIMM plays a vital role in supporting, connecting, and developing professionals in the minerals sector, while also advocating for responsible and sustainable practices within the industry globally.
AUSTMINE
Austmine is the premier Australian industry association dedicated to championing the Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector. Its core mission is to promote the global advancement of technology and innovation in mining, supporting its member companies through networking opportunities, market access (especially internationally), and advocacy for the sector's crucial role as a world leader in mining solutions.
ACPS
The Australian Coal Preparation Society (ACPS) is an independent, not-for-profit industry body dedicated to advancing the practices and technology in the coal processing and related sectors of the Australian coal industry. Formed in 1989 through the amalgamation of the NSW and Queensland branches, ACPS focuses heavily on education, training, and technology transfer to ensure the Australian industry maintains world's best practice in coal preparation.
