Need a customised slurry pump?

Multotec can manufacture a completely customised slurry pump for your application. We use our global experience as well as the expertise gleaned through research and development to manufacture pumps tailored to customers’ application-specific requirements. This is how our flameproof Vertical Spindle pumps were developed, for use in acidic environments. Read more about this innovation here.

In 2015, we expanded our expertise in mineral processing equipment to include this range of industrial slurry pumps and other industrial pumps. Since then, these slurry pumps have proven to outlast conventional industrial pumps due to their robust designs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which slurry pump is best for your application?

Your local Multotec specialists will work with you to determine the best slurry pump for your application. We’ll assess all aspects of your operation, with detailed considerations of your existing plant or application process, in order to provide the most cost-effective pump.

Multotec will custom-design an industrial pump for your application if necessary.

How do I choose a slurry pump?

As slurries are abrasive by nature, it is important to choose a pump size that allows for slow running, extending the life of the pump.

Once you begin to exceed the pump’s maximum speed, it’s lifespan significantly decreases. Allow the pump to run as slowly as possible, to extend its life, but fast enough to keep solids from settling and clogging the lines.

One also needs to carefully consider the pump components used, such as the impeller size and design, material of construction, and discharge configurations to ensure the pump can handle wear caused by an extremely abrasive slurry.

Which pump is used for slurry?

Slurry pumps are large, durable pumps. They are larger than standard pumps and deliver more power, making them ideal for mineral processing environments. They are designed to be more robust and durable in order to handling abrasive, thick, often corrosive and solid-filled liquids.

The rugged centrifugal pump is the most common type of slurry pump. These make use of a rotating impeller, which moves the slurry.
