In order to provide for the promotion by the Group of black economic empowerment within the community and to increase broad-based and effective participation by black people as contemplated in the B-BBEE Act, 2003 as read with the BEE codes, the Ikwezi Trust was established in 2014.
The beneficiaries of the Trust are the Ikwezi Education Fund and local SA welfare and social upliftment organisations.
The Deed of Trust stipulates that all economic benefit derived in the entity shall be utilised solely for the benefit of black beneficiaries.
