SC 25 Spiral Concentrator

Enhance recoveries in the 1 – 3 mm fractions of high-density material and eliminate beaching with Multotec’s SC25 spiral concentrator.

Tailored for use with ferrochrome, alluvial chrome, manganese slag and other heavy minerals, this spiral concentrator is the ideal alternative to jigs in the minus 3 to plus 1 size range.

The SC25 spiral concentrator delivers a cost-effective mineral processing solution, as it uses no electricity, has no moving parts or chemical requirements, making it easy to maintain.

Benefits & features of our SC25 spiral concentrator:

  • Enables higher metal recoveries, even for minus 1 mm fractions in ferrochrome slag
  • Features steeper angles to facilitate the flow of material & increase separation efficiency
  • Beneficiates a wider range of particle sizes
  • Achieves more tailings recovery (1-3 mm material)
  • Accesses value from previously discarded tailings

Frequently asked questions:

What is a spiral concentrator?

A spiral concentrator is a device that relies on gravity to separate material in a slurry feed. The light density granules are separated from the heavier density material.

How do spiral concentrators work?

Spiral concentrators separate different components in a slurry, according to their density. The slurry flow is directed into a spiral tower. The dense particles move toward the centre of the spiral, while the light particles move towards the outside. Slots or channels in the sluice allow for the extraction of differently sized particles.

Why are spiral concentrators used?

Spiral concentrators are a cost-effective solution for the separation of particles (deposits) in mineral processing operations.
