CIP / CIL Interstage Screening

Multotec manufactures a complete range of wedge wire cylindrical screens for CIP and CIL circuits. Custom-made for your specific applications – with various aperture sizes, wedge wire profiles, diameters, heights and flange parameters – Multotec interstage screens are ideal for CIP and CIL applications in gold beneficiation plants.

Our wedge wire interstage cylinders are welded using cylindrical welding machines, ensuring a seamless, symmetrical design that promotes even wear and extends product life. Precision-engineered aperture sizes maintain accurate cut points with minimal binding, while state-of-the-art welding technology guarantees tolerances of ±0.05mm for superior performance.

  • Typical screen apertures: 0.5 to 1.0 mm
  • Cylinder diameters: 500 to 2 400 mm
  • Cylinder lengths up to 3 600 mm
  • High-capacity Kambalda screens treat up to 350 m3/hr
  • Bonanza screens for small operations treating up to 50 m3/hr

Fast manufacturing ensures quick delivery times, wherever your gold processing plant may be.

More About Our Interstage Screens

Keeping your interstage screens clean

Minimising the pegging and clogging of apertures on your interstage screen is essential for maintaining efficiency in the carbon-in-pulp circuit. Pegging occurs because of the presence of near-size carbon and grit, which can be managed by carefully selecting the aperture sizes of the carbon regeneration and guard screens. Additionally, a spiral concentrator can help remove unwanted grit from contaminated carbon. Multotec can provide expert advise for this issue.

How does Multotec make a difference?

Key to Multotec’s value proposition is our in-house test facility, where we can test customers’, mineral samples using various equipment to prove which is optimal for the application. This crucial step helps customers reduce project process uncertainty and procurement risk.

Interstage screen material grades

Our interstage screens are available in a range of stainless-steel grades, including austenitic and duplex options, to ensure the best balance of wear and corrosion resistance. Manufactured by Multotec Manufacturing, these screens are designed for durability and must be replaced at the appropriate time to maximise performance and efficiency.

A high-quality interstage screen extends service life, reducing the need for frequent replacements and optimising long-term operational benefits. Multotec can provide expert guidance on selecting the most suitable material for your specific requirements.

Wedge wire profiles

Cylinders can be welded in a variety of wedge wire profiles.

The following criteria is considered when selecting an appropriate wire profile for a specific site:

  • Capacity is a function of open area
  • Pegging or clogging of apertures is a function of the taper of the wire profile
  • Screen wear life is a function of the profile of the wedge

Your local Multotec CIP / CIL screening specialists will work with you to determine the optimum aperture size and profile of your screen system, as required by the carbon or resin size range of your leaching process.
