Celebrating 2021 Long Service Awards

On 7 December 2021, Multotec held a celebration acknowledging employees who have been at Multotec for 25 and 40 years. This was the perfect opportunity to celebrate our Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Holtz’, and his 25 year-long service to the company. 

Like so much else that occurred in 2021, this celebration was a little different. Instead of simply listening to words of appreciation from our HR Group Executive, Michael Budynkiewicz, our most loyal colleagues were encouraged to share some of their highlights from the past 25 to 40 years. They shared some very special memories and moments. 

“If you compare Multotec to other companies, specifically the relationship between employees and management, Multotec is 10 steps ahead. The last strike we had was in 2009. That shows the respect between the two parties. Thank you for retaining me for 40 years. If I had worked for any other company, I would have been gone a long time ago.” - Joseph Sekganyeng, former group senior HR officer

“We helped build this company. We started as a small company, situated at 28 Forge road. I told myself I will never quit Multotec. I have been here for over 40 years. I am still taking the baton forward. I am going to make history, Mr Holtz. I want to be in the Guinness book – where it states that George Segone broke the record at Multotec.” - George Segone, MM

“I was one of the first people to join Multotec in Kathu. The company was very small when I started 40 years ago. What a journey it has been, one I will continue if the Lord keeps me. I would like to thank Mr Holtz and my managers. - Frank Mathekgane, MWL

“I am grateful to Multotec for the opportunity to work at the company and play a part in uplifting the Wear Linings Division. We started very small, but we’ve built it to what it is today. I am particularly proud of the PD  that I made and the opportunity to go overseas, to see the product I made with my own hands.” - Dumzile Mbizo, MWL

“I started working at Multotec in 1995 as a fixed-term contractor. This was very frustrating for me, to not be a registered worker, but Multotec has grown over the years and employed many people.
