At Multotec, we believe that Socio-Economic Development is a conscious and focused investment in human potential. We are proud to engage in projects within communities that aim to improve health, nutrition and well-being.
Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Pretoria
Multotec is also funding a community project which aims at facilitating change to improve health, well-being and high poverty levels in informal settlements as well as in rural areas around Pretoria and Bronkhorstspruit. This is done in partnership with the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Pretoria. The University addresses nutrition-related practices, physical health, and socio-emotional functioning by attending to primary school children’s health and well-being. Children are sensitised to transfer newly gained knowledge and skills to other members of family and communities.
“The SED is a project close to my heart. We need to celebrate the ability and opportunities we have to help others. Multotec is not only about lowering the cost per ton, but also about increasing the cost per ton, with tons of humanity and community development through the SED projects.” - Adel Kruger, Office Administrator for Multotec Process Equipment
“As humans we yearn to make a difference to leave our mark. Being part of the SED team makes me happier, more balanced and it also instils a great sense of purpose in my life. You won’t realise how much difference you make in a person’s life until you give.” - Vincent Konzani, Inventory Clerk for Multotec Manufacturing
2020 promises to be an exciting year and we are looking forward to getting to know our communities more and uplift those surrounding our operations.
