Keketso Mokoena celebrates her birthday on May 12
.

I was honoured to join Isaac Matlala, Thomas Holtz, and Bulelwa Mhlongo on Friday, May 12th, to celebrate our beloved Keketso Mokoena’s 15th birthday. She is a precious angel who lives at Little Eden, Elvira Rota Village in Bapsfontein. We had a wonderful day of joy, love, and community.

Keketso has been under Multotec’s care and support since 2010. Her parents abandoned her because of her disabilities, which breaks our hearts but also motivates us to look after her. We work with Little Eden to cover her financial needs and make her feel loved. For her birthday, we brought her some treats and warm clothes to help her stay warm during the winter months.

We felt a surge of joy when Keketso and her friends greeted us with bright smiles. We bonded with them over games and jokes and appreciated their generosity and affection. We learned how much we can make a difference by being kind and attentive to others. We want to build a community where everyone is cherished, honoured, and cared for.

"I may not be able to walk, but I can still have fun!" This is the core idea of our inclusive play philosophy. We don't think that physical challenges should stop anyone from experiencing the joy of play. With this attitude, we hope to create a community that offers the same opportunities for everyone, where people feel confident and respected.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Keketso’s 15th birthday at Little Eden, a home for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This was a truly humbling and heart-warming experience for us, as we witnessed the joy and gratitude of Keketso and her friends. We learned a valuable lesson about the importance of compassion, acceptance, and creating a sense of belonging within our community. As Multotec, we are committed to supporting and uplifting individuals like Keketso, ensuring that they feel seen, heard, and loved. #MultotecCares
