On the 25th of November 2022, we attended Little Eden’s annual Christmas concert hosted at Elvira Rota Village in Babsfontein. The concert featured about 150 residents that stay at the home.
The residents treated the audience to performances of singing, dancing, bicycle riding and a fashion show among others, to show off their skills.
Multotec contributes funds yearly towards the needs of our Little Eden’s adopted angel, Keketso Mokoena. This funding is used for therapy, stimulation, spiritual care, special diet and helping Keketso to make the most of life. Our angel also received a Christmas gift from Multotec during the Christmas concert, to make Christmas extra special for her.
Later during the day, we went to Sekusile Ekhaya Labantwana, an organisation that addresses the problems of hunger, by taking care of orphans and vulnerable children who are students in the local schools. Operating from Katlego Intermediate School’s premises in Daveyton, servicing areas such as Chris Hani, Gabon, Mkhalazenke and Mayfield, Sekusile provides over 170 individuals with a cooked meal every day and distributes vegetable hampers to families in need every Friday.
Multotec donated funds to assist with the Christmas function, groceries and gifts which were distributed to 90 beneficiaries during the Christmas day celebration.
We spent time with our beneficiaries during this day with the aim of getting to know them better, and understanding the community in which we operate.
Over the December holidays Multotec decided to spread some Christmas cheer by visiting the Vita Nova Centre in Springs. The centre is a residential facility that caters for persons with cerebral palsy, downe syndrome, autism and the physically and mentally challenged. Some of the children are blind, deaf and have HIV/AIDS. Members of the SED team went to deliver the bed linen they desperately needed, as well as food and snacks for their Christmas day lunch. Multotec also donated funds towards their borehole project which is now complete. The team enjoyed spending some time with the residents while learning what it takes to run a centre like this. In true Multotec style we spread some love and showed that it takes nothing to be kind and to show that #MultotecCares.
