Multotec collaborate for trommel project success

Considering the lead time and manufacturing capabilities, MSA (Multotec Manufacturing) entrusted the trommel manufacturing project to MSS (Multotec China). MSA outlined comprehensive technical and quality requirements, including, but not limited to, production qualification, raw materials, manufacturing techniques, manufacturing processes, welding technology, machining accuracy, manufacturing tolerance, quality inspection, final assembly, and documentation.

To ensure the manufacturing process and quality were meticulously controlled, MSA sent QC Manager Jean Coetzee to China for an on-site inspection of key technical parameters. On the second day of his arrival in Tianjin, China, on May 14, 2024, he conducted a detailed quality inspection, focusing on concentricity, various manufacturing dimensions, and tolerances. After completing the inspection, he expressed satisfaction that all manufacturing techniques and tolerances met the quality requirements. Additionally, he emphasised the importance of adhering to every major manufacturing technique, process, schedule, and documentation.

A second trip to China was planned to witness and monitor the final assembly, ensuring the project remains under control. We are grateful to the MSA trommel team (Mohammad Rahiman, Jean Coetzee, Mohini Jingoo, Ian Chapman, etc.) for their professional guidance and on-site quality monitoring, which have increased our confidence in successfully completing this trommel manufacturing project. This collaboration lays a solid foundation for broader and deeper cooperation in the future.

MSS aspires to become a leading capital equipment manufacturing centre in the Asia-Pacific region.
