Supporting Underprivileged Children
Multotec, through its Socio-Economic Development (SED) initiatives, seeks to improve the quality of life through the development and upliftment of vulnerable communities surrounding our own and our customer’s operations.
For the year 2019, Multotec SED projects were driven by meaningful partnerships with Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) which ensures sustainable development. We aim to enhance, uplift and strengthen the communities in which we operate. Helping underprivileged children is a key pillar of the social responsibility we do.
Here’s a recap on Our Contribution to Underprivileged Children in 2019:
Sekusile Ekhaya Labantwana
Meaning “The sun has risen upon the children”, this community-based organisation operates from Katlego Intermediate School in Daveyton. The organisation has adopted the school as its main beneficiary for all its projects and activities for children who are orphaned, disadvantaged, and vulnerable. The children receive food after school, are assisted with homework, and given counselling when needed. For the past five years, Multotec has financially contributed to ensure this organisation can continue making the sun rise upon these special children.
Thandanani
Meaning “Love each other”, this is an initiative we are honoured to support. This orphanage is run as a non-profit organisation by a small but highly dedicated team. They provide assistance to orphans and other disadvantaged children, many of whom are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and abuse. Children are given food parcels, clothes, and are taken on educational excursions.
Rock of Hope
Located in Montana, Pretoria, Rock of Hope is a place of safety that provides a loving home for abandoned babies and toddlers. On Mandela Day, Multotec donated milk and nappies to the organisation and spent time at this incredible home. It was an emotional day for our volunteers and we are very humbled by the experience.

“Rock of Hope”. Being part of this awesome initiative was an extremely humbling experience, but at the same time I felt so proud to be part of the Multotec SED team that visited this home. Give Love and Serve Care Centre
When people are nourished, they have confidence in themselves and that makes them feel better. Having a shelter to rest undertakes away the stress and troubles people go through and it keeps them away from harm. Families that have no stability find themselves being exploited and abused. The Give Love and Serve Care Centre seeks to address this with its shelter. Multotec is proud to contribute to the sustainability of this shelter.
2020 promises to be an exciting year and we are looking forward to getting to know our communities more and uplift those surrounding our operations.
