Multotec recently attended the annual Aggerate and Sand Producers Association of South Africa (ASPASA) conference.
This year's event, themed "The World of Quarrying 2050”, brought together industry experts to discuss innovations, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of quarrying.
Held on 31 October 2024, the conference provided a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and exploring cutting-edge technologies. Multotec's participation highlighted its commitment to supporting the quarrying industry's growth and sustainability.
The World of Quarrying 2050 focused on five key areas:
1. Digitalisation and automation
2. Environmental sustainability
3. Workforce development and skills training
4. Innovative equipment and technologies
5. The quarry industry and its partnership with the Department of Mineral Resources & Energy (DMRE)
Multotec's expertise in mineral processing solutions aligns with the Aggregate and Sand Producers Association of Southern Africa’s (ASPASA) vision for a modernised and efficient quarrying sector.
By engaging with industry stakeholders, Multotec reaffirmed its dedication to delivering tailored solutions that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and promote environmentally responsible practices.
We also had the opportunity to present at the conference. Our presentation highlighted innovations across three key periods: past innovations, such as rubber screening media solutions for the industry; present innovations, including fire-resistant rubber panels; and future technologies, smart sensors integrated into our screening media.
