The Class of 2024: We're proud of our graduates

It is always an honour to be part of the learnership journey of each individual. Seeing them transform and move away from their own limitation and fears; taking this on and making it a success.

That is what we experienced on Friday 12 July, butterflies who went through the transformation of themselves, of their development and, I am sure, of pushing the limits of their fears.

Well done to them!

We honoured the following programmes:

• Production Technology L3 – 8 learners (all internal)
• Business Administration L4 – 12 learners (internal)
• Business Administration L4 – 13 learners of Persons with Disability (all external, 4 of them are now permanently employed.)
• Generic Management L4 – 10 (all internal)

We had the pleasure of being taken through their journey when some of the graduates shared their stories.

One of the graduation speeches, given by Dominique Rougier, who was on the Virtual Business Administration L4 learnership, is given below:

“Today marks a significant milestone in our lives. As we stand on the threshold of new beginnings, it's an honour to address you on this momentous occasion.

We have spent the past year immersed in the principles of business administration, learning the intricacies of management, finance, marketing, and strategy. We've collaborated on projects and faced challenges that tested our resolve. And through it all, we have emerged stronger, wiser, and ready to make our mark.

Beyond the Zoom lectures encompassing our classroom activities and work evidence, there exists a guiding philosophy that has profoundly shaped our journey – Our Multotec Way. This is not merely a collection of principles; it is a way of life that emphasises excellence, innovation, integrity, and a deep commitment to nurturing, challenging, and coaching one another for peak performance. As we advance in our careers, these values will serve as our compass, steering us through the complexities of the business world.

We have been taught to strive for the highest standards in everything we do. Whether it's delivering a presentation, drafting a business plan, or leading a team, we aim for nothing less than the best. This pursuit of excellence will set us apart in our careers, enabling us to achieve remarkable success and make significant contributions to our organisations.

Innovation is another cornerstone in a rapidly changing world, the ability to think creatively and embrace new ideas is crucial. We have learned to challenge the status quo, to seek out new opportunities, and to turn challenges into possibilities.

This innovative spirit will drive us to develop groundbreaking solutions, create value for our stakeholders, and lead our industries into the future. Integrity is the foundation upon which all else is built.

In the realm of business, trust and credibility are paramount. Our Multotec Way instills in us the importance of honesty, transparency, and ethical behaviour. As some of us take on new roles and responsibilities, we will uphold these principles, earning the respect and trust of our colleagues, clients, and communities.

It also emphasises the importance of nurturing, challenging, and coaching each other for performance. Throughout our time here, we have supported each other in all we say and do, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.

This sense of community and collaboration will continue to be vital as we continue to work within the professional world, where teamwork and mutual support are key to achieving success.
